My freelancing journey and how I pulled in $3,580 in just 30 days.

Freelancing has completely changed the way I look at making money online. August 2025 was one of my best months so far — I pulled in $3,580 just by working with clients on projects I actually enjoy doing.

Before you start reading more, I have a good news for you: 

Lately, I’ve been diving into these weird little online gigs where people are making earnings like $175/day replying to comments on Facebook, or $256/day doing writing assistant job on Quora, etc. (yep, seriously!). I’m making money using these ideas as well on a daily basis.

And here’s the thing: I didn’t need to work crazy hours, nor did I have a big team behind me.

If you’ve been thinking about freelancing, let me break down exactly how this worked for me so you can do it too.

1. I Focused On One Core Skill First

When I first started, I was all over the place. I tried writing, social media, design, and more — but the real growth happened when I doubled down on content writing.

  • Clients pay more when they see you as a specialist, not a generalist.
  • This also made my Upwork and Fiverr profiles stronger.

So, pick a skill you’re comfortable with and stick to it.

2. I Used Two Platforms Consistently

Instead of jumping between ten different websites, I only focused on:

  • Upwork (where most of my bigger projects came from)
  • Fiverr (great for quick $50–$100 gigs)

Consistency matters. Sending out proposals daily and keeping my gigs optimized made sure I always had work coming in.

3. I Increased My Rates In August

At the start of the year, I charged $10/hour. By August, I was charging $25–$30/hour, and clients were still saying yes.

  • Don’t be afraid to raise your rates as you gain experience.
  • Higher-paying clients usually respect your time more.

4. I Delivered On Time & Asked For Referrals

Every time I finished a project, I asked my client if they knew someone else who might need my service. Surprisingly, two clients in August referred me to others — adding over $800 extra income.

Freelancing isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme, but it’s one of the fastest ways to build an income online if you stay consistent.

$3,580 in a single month may not sound like millions, but for me, it’s proof that freelancing can give financial freedom without depending on a 9–5 job.
